VOLUNTEER WITH โ€˜ADSโ€™

Our Volunteers are an essential and much-valued part of the โ€˜ADSโ€™ Team, providing the help that enables our Funding and Advisors to focus on our Members. Whether you are only available now and again or can commit to a few hours a week, weโ€™d love to hear from you.

Full training will be given for each role and we may ask to be allowed to apply for a DBS check.

Help with admin work at our Services

SERVICE ASSISTANT

Our Service Advisors are usually busy greeting attendees and giving advice. They rely on our wonderful Volunteers to help set up and make the all-important cuppa. They also need to be able to move on quickly after the Service and help with tidying up.

Help collecting our tins

Tin collector

Our Volunteers collect full tins, replace them with empty ones and return the collected tins to one of our Team.โ€‹ Could you help by taking responsibility for a set of tins? Do you know of a new location that would be happy to place a tin for us?โ€‹

Out & About with People with Dementia and their Carers

Out & About Volunteer

If you like local travelling and discovering new places and experiences while helping our Team during this Service, you should become an O&A Volunteer. We need someone to rely on one day per week. Can you help?

Become a befriender for someone with Dementia and their Family

BEFRIENDING

Our Befrienders offer social contact to People with Dementia and/or family Carers of People with Dementia (Befriendees) by providing companionship in their homes or taking part in appropriate social and recreational activities.

Share your story with our Members

Share your stories

โ€‹Do you have an interesting past that our Members would enjoy hearing about or may trigger their own happy memories?โ€‹โ€‹ Perhaps you have some items that you can bring along to show the group? It can be something that you do from time to time.

'ADS' Shop Volunteer

Shop Volunteer

If you could spare a couple of hours per week, we could use some help with sorting the donated items, steaming clothes, displaying and selling the donations in our High Street Maidenhead Charity Shop.

SERVICE COMPANION

Become one of our Service Companions and we wonโ€™t ask more than that you come regularly to one of our Services. Be rewarded with a smile on the face of the person that you help and the appreciation from their Carer. nv

Offer ad-hoc driving support

Driver

Our Charity Shop sometimes has requests to pick up donations from peopleโ€™s homes. Is this something that you could help us with? It doesnโ€™t happen very often, but we would love to have a list of people that we could call upon. b

Events Volunteer

We hold events where we may need some extra pairs of hands. There would be no pressure.  You could be included on our Volunteer Reserve List.  We would put out a call for action and you could offer to help only if youโ€™re availableโ€‹.
