'ADS' is a local, independent Charity supported by a dedicated professional team. Our focus goes to ensuring that the funds we raise go directly to supporting our Members and raising Dementia Awareness. We provide practical guidance and services to those affected by Dementia and their Carers, aiming to bring joy and support to their lives.

While we do have a small office and a Charity Shop on the High Street in Maidenhead, our team is often out in the Community with our Members. Our Charity covers the area of Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot, Slough, Langley and surroundings.

Job Title: SERVICE DELIVERY ADVISOR

Reports to: Senior Advisor

Hours: 30 hours (by negotiation, with some possible evenings and weekends)

Main purpose of job:

To manage and deliver Dementia Services and Advice on behalf of Alzheimers Dementia Support ‘ADS’.

Scope of job:

To support, within our selected region, People with Dementia, their Carers and families through the design and delivery of services and advice. To generate awareness of Dementia through attendance at events, meetings and interface with partner agencies

  • Responsible and accountable for the service related budgets as agreed with the line manager;

  • Responsible and accountable for the cost control of the service within agreed guidelines;

  • Responsible and accountable for risk assessments on all venues used in the delivery of the service.

Duties and key responsibilities:

  1. To work closely with the Senior Advisor to ensure the effective and coordinated program of sessions, including services, awareness, advice and home visits;

  2. To recommend, create and deliver new opportunities, locations and activities;

  3. To assess and organise volunteers to ensure that the service is safely and adequately supported;

  4. To maximise opportunities whilst controlling costs in order to achieve financial targets;

  5. To complete detailed records and logs of all service attendees and weekly activities;

  6. To deputise for the Senior Advisor where requested.

Additional responsibilities:

1. To adhere to all Alzheimers Dementia Support ‘ADS’ service standards, policies and procedures.

2. To comply with the GDPR regulations, ensuring that information on clients remains confidential.

3. To be responsible for personal learning and development, to support the learning and development of others within the organisation.

4. To work collaboratively with the Alzheimers Dementia Support ‘ADS’ team by sharing responsibility for the achievement of jointly agreed objectives, as appropriate.

5. To work in a manner that facilitates complete inclusion, particularly of People with Dementia

6. To implement the Alzheimers Dementia Support ‘ADS’ health and safety policy and procedures, ensuring that all practices and procedures are undertaken in accordance with a healthy and safe working environment and that all staff and service users for whom you may be responsible are aware of their responsibilities in respect of their role, monitoring data and recommending action as required.

7. To administer and organise own work to ensure that it is accurate and meets quality targets, reasonable deadlines, audit and reporting requirements.

8. To undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are commensurate with the general level of this post and as directed by the designated line manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION – SERVICE DELIVERY ADVISOR

Essential Person Specification

  • Full, clean driving license and own vehicle;

  • Proven ability to organise self and others;

  • Experience of efficient record keeping and the management of confidential, personal files;

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills;

  • Good time management skills;

  • Experience of cooperating with staff, volunteers and being an integral part of the ‘team’;

  • Experience of developing and adhering to costs and budgets;

  • Basic IT skills including Word and Excel;

  • Able to work flexible hours;

  • A drive and commitment to make a difference to our Members;

  • Empathetic and exceptional listening skills;

  • Non- judgmental communication;

  • Energetic and creative;

  • Able to deal with conflict in a professional manner;

  • Willingness to learn and increase understanding;

  • Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities.

Preferable Person Specification Qualities

  • Experience of working in an Advisor role within a People with Dementia Support environment;

  • Knowledge of Dementia through Training or Caring;

  • Experience of establishing, rotating, monitoring and continually adding to, a range of people-focused activities;

  • Experience of managing the learning and development of others;

  • Understanding of the inclusion agenda and its relevance within a diverse society.

Bonus Person Specification Qualities

  • Care Appropriate Courses;

  • First Aid certificate;

  • Knowledge of Council organisation and processes;

  • Multi-lingual;
